Frequently asked questions
- Is the file uploaded when I compress it?
- No. Compression happens locally in your browser — the file never leaves your computer.
- Why is the file still large after compressing?
- Scanned documents are high-resolution images to begin with. Try a stronger level, or export the pages as images and re-export them; text-based PDFs usually shrink much more.
- Does it blur the text?
- It mainly affects the sharpness of embedded images. Keep a backup of the original if a stamped page matters.
- How does it work with merging and encryption?
- The usual order is: merge → compress → encrypt, then send it out.
